Thread: Possible Bad Axi motor

    Possible Bad Axi motor

Jason, in Feb. 2013 I purchased an Axi 2808-24 motor (using the half-price exchange program). Since then I have burned out three ESC's. And as a result I have flown this model very little since the motor replacement.

I am beginning to suspect that the motor may have a dead short on one of the winding leads, thus resulting in destroying at least one output of each the ESC(s).

Does Hobby Lobby have the means to test this motor in the shop and how can we make that happen? What are the warranty provisions for this motor?

    Thanks for your help,

    Hey Mike,
Send it on up to Hobby Lobby with Attention Jason on it and note inside with your information and the background on the motor. I'll take a look and figure out what's going on.

Will do.....I may even bring it personally.

If it will help, here is the full set-up:
Graupner Extra 300s (once sold by Hobby Lobby)
Axi 2808-24 (ideal for this model)
    APC 1070E prop
    45A ESC
    3S1P 1800mah LiPo battery

Will you be at Joe Nall?

BUMMER on that....thought I might see you there.

However, I think I will just mail that motor to you. Will place it in the mail ASAP.

    Thanks for your help,
