    eRC Motor and Battery

I'm looking at buying an eRC motor (.40 size specifically) and the specs page says the battery range is 2-4 LiPo. I currently have a 8-cell 5000mah nimh pack. I'm not sure whether or not it would make a difference, but I would like to find out for sure that a nimh pack would work with this motor or if I have to buy a LiPo. I'm going to be powering the motor through an eRC ESC with BEC which has nimh support. I'm not too knowledgeable in this area so I would like a sure answer.

Hi NiMh will work, but you'd really need a 10 to 12 cell battery. That motor needs a little more voltage for better efficiency and power.

Good to know, thanks. I was thinking about the voltage being a little low actually. I just bought a 4 cell and will wire it in series.
