    Variable pitch propeller

    Hi
This is my first post. I've been looking around but couldn't find this topic anywhere.
I've bought the fourblade variable pitch propeller: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/scale_4_blad ... 8_prd1.htm
And it looks absolutely beautiful. However, the instructions says nothing about how to install them and when I look at the root of the blades there is a little tap that fits perfectly into the grove in the hub. This is all very well. But if I attach the blade to the hub using this tap and grove the blades are locked in a certain pitch and not variable as the add says.
The only way out of this is to cut/sand the tap off the propeller blade and then install them. But before I do that I would like to know if this is the recommened way of doing it.
    I hope someone can help...
    Thanks in advance
    Finn

    Hi Fin,
Yes, with the tabs, the props are all set to 10" of pitch. If you wish to change that you remove the tab and use the pitch gauge to adjust the pitch, making sure all the blades are set to the same pitch.
