    The best Starter Ever Made
I bought my first Kavan Starter back in 1972. With a normal 12 volt battery it will easily start a Saito 120. I added my own home made 22 Volt battery pack and it starts a Saito 150 with ease. I have also started Saito 180s with this combination.

If you are looking for a good reliable, long lasting starter, this is the one. It is easy to use and it is more powerful than the direct drive models.

    Kavan Starter
This is by far the most powerful starter I have ever own, but coupled with a 4S LiPo batt, 2200mAh, it starts my YS 170 engines very easily, it actually turns a DA50 like a regular starter turns an OS91.

But it comes a t a price, brushes last two years, I still have my first Sullivan starter running perfect and it is 24 years old, but the power it's probably half of the Kavan, so I will keep changing brushes every two years but not leaving Kavan for sure.

    Planetary Gear Starter Review
Excellent starter. I have mine since 1998 and never had a problem with it. It moves slow but, it has power to fire up my YS 91, Supertiger.75 plus. Well done ...

    Kavan Planetary starter
I bought a Kavan starter back in '97. It has the 10 cell nicad battery pack. In this configuration it has maximum portability. I can take it on field with my glow driver and start the plane there. It's on it's second set of brushes and second battery pack. The gears have been trouble free and still work. I fly every weekend. This is a fantastic starter!
